Lavin Chawla - BA Business and Hospitality
It was difficult to settle down into UK and the educational system at first as everything is so different to India. However, the friendly staffs and non-judgmental atmosphere went a long in helping me to get used to the new student life. My Academic Review Tutor also gave me guidance on how to do these things and there were several library sessions held by University which really helped me improve my work a lot.
I think the teaching aspect of the university is really great, I have friends at other University and they do not receive the amount of support you get here at Gloucestershire. You can get in contact with the lectures and they reply back with support and feedback quickly. The lectures are pro-active with students they check with you to see if your assignments are going well and guide you on things you may need help on.
Tejas Choudhari - MSc Computing IT Management
My high point at the University is student satisfaction for which the university is ranked one of the best in UK. It provides us with many activities as per your area of interest. As an Intern at the university, I like the way project management is handled along with the friendly staff. University also provides various trips to explore UK at a very cheap price and I enjoyed it very much as I hardly miss any trip.
The knowledge I'm gaining from top quality tutors is most important to me in my future to sustain in this competitive world. The modules are very simplistic and provide excellent knowledge based information. My studies enhanced my career potential to develop myself into an IT professional as I want to continue my career as an IT expert. After leaving the University, I intent to go back to my home country and work as an IT Manager/Business Analyst for few years and after that setting up my own business.
Tejas Dalvi - MBA Hospitality
The main attractions of the university are its professor's and the teaching techniques applied to transfer the knowledge. They embed in us a confidence of dealing with workplace situations by offering case studies. The course has been excellently planned to mould the students into better managers. The areas of interest for a potential international student at the university are academically excellent.
Moreover, there is excellent after class support for assignments. This University also ranks high in student satisfaction as it arranges trips and sports days. The degree plus is an excellent opportunity for students like me to gain internships and strengthen their CV.
My studies have helped me understand the intricacies involved in the organization and its management. It has helped me to gain a different perspective of approaching workplace situations. Also the module has strengthened my CV to provide me with better career opportunities.
Nagaraja Jade - PhD Research in Computing
Gloucestershire is one of the most beautiful places to live in the UK. There is everything that a student needs ranging from shopping to clubbing to fitness. Some must-visit places and events I recommend for any fellow student include the Gloucester Cathedral, Cotswolds, the Cheltenham Racecourse, Cheltenham Festival, Cotswold Water Park and the Westonbirt Arboretum. There are loads of restaurants, pubs and clubs to visit during weekends. The campuses at Cheltenham and Gloucester themselves are very beautiful, pleasant and lively. All in all during my stay at the university I have never felt that I’m away from my home and family. There’s still a lot to discover and experience for me in months to come.
During my time on the Campus, I spend most of my time at the Libraries, the Refectory or at the Pond (Park Campus). Events like International Student trips and Student Union parties helped me discover the lifestyle in the UK and bond with friends from different nationalities, backgrounds and cultures. The weekly student parties at FCH Chapel are pretty cool. The coolest thing about the chapel parties is that we celebrate birthdays of students and festivals of different nations by sharing sweets and playing games. The “Faith Group” meetings helped me discover life insights from people of different faiths and ethnic backgrounds. All in all the year of my master’s was an awesome journey that I will reflect upon in the years to come.
