Become an effective information security specialist

As our world changes and as technology plays and increasingly important role in all aspects of our lives, the need for information security is fast becoming a fundamental part of our economic development.

Our higher apprenticeship in information security has been designed by industry professionals to create effective cyber security specialists.  Working in partnership with major employers such as Raytheon and Northrop Grumman, we have developed a programme that is current, relevant and reflects industry needs.

This apprenticeship is highly focused on vocational skills that are underpinned by academic theory and core graduate skills. Taught modules will provide you with experience in using cutting-edge specialist hardware and software. Assignments are predominately coursework based to simulate real world scenarios and, where possible, use live briefs.

Work-based learning is at the heart of this apprenticeship and complements the taught content. The work-based element allows you to be employed for the entire duration of the programme in a role that is directly relevant to information security. The overall aim is to cultivate your knowledge and professionalism, so you are already fully immersed in the world of work when you complete the course.

Teamwork and communication skills are embedded throughout, alongside literacy and numeracy skills.
