Graduate Aimee Sullivan has won the prestigious Cheltenham Bowl at the University of Gloucestershire.
Now working at Cheltenham based design studio Meri Meri, Aimee was reunited with her fellow students at her graduation ceremony at The Centaur, Cheltenham, yesterday (Thursday November 24).
She was presented with her prize by Mayor of Cheltenham, Councillor Chris Ryder. It is awarded for an outstanding contribution to the life of the university and the local community.
Aimee, from Selby in Yorkshire, said: “I had no idea I’d been nominated,” she said, “and I felt so humbled and overwhelmed. The lecturers are so friendly, supportive and encouraging, that I immediately felt welcome in Cheltenham.”
She is now also studying a part-time masters degree in Illustration with the university.
“I have enjoyed the wonderful community of the university, and of Cheltenham, and the involvement in community projects, Also, the trips and extra-curricular opportunities have been fantastic.”
