Our world is becoming more globally connected and technological developments are transforming the way we all do business. To keep pace with our changing world, business leaders must have the skills to adapt and the knowledge to seize every opportunity available.
Staff from every sector can undertake this apprenticeship, developing leadership capabilities and personal-professional skills to achieve positive and immediate business impact.
Work-based learning forms an integral part of our programmes and complements the classroom content. All apprentices must be employed in relevant industry roles to apply what they have learned in your workplace, delivering a bespoke project informed by your business needs.
From day one, your staff will have opportunities to develop effective solutions to the current challenges your business faces. They will also apply skills in building team and individual performance, contribute to your business’s strategic plan, develop and manage a product, manage business risk and develop effective stakeholder relationships.
The University of Gloucestershire is in partnership with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), and as part of the apprenticeship learners work towards Chartered Manager status; the highest status that can be achieved in the management profession.
Apprentice job roles
We offer leadership and management apprenticeships at level 5 and degree level, and apprentices will typically be:
- Senior managers.
Leadership and management apprentices should be professionals already working in leadership roles who are looking to develop their skills as part of their career progression. Including higher and degree apprenticeships as part of your staff development offer will not only make your organisation more attractive to new recruits, it will also help you to retain the best people you have already.
Our leadership and management apprenticeship is one year long. Learners will typically spend one day at university every six weeks. In order to provide flexible learning options, programmes are developed to suit the individual needs of employers and learners, so the details will be agreed with you prior to the course start date. Assessment is by assignments, which are centred around the learner’s workplace and are informed by their role and responsibilities. This is supported by a programme of mentoring which we would develop in partnership with you, so that you get the best out of both the apprentice and the apprenticeship.
There is currently funding available to support this programme, meaning that your business could pay as little as 50% of the cost.
